Location: Leeds / Remote / Hybrid

Reports to: Director of Performance

Senior-level variant: Senior Performance Manager – Paid Social

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a self-starter to support the growth of our Paid Social proposition across a broad range of clients and sectors.

You will have the full support of the agency’s Director of Performance and Managing Director who collectively have over 30+ years of industry experience working with clients including Argos, Made, HSBC and Castrol.

As a Paid Social specialist, you will bring working knowledge across the full social landscape rather than a single platform. Meta will be the starting point for most of our accounts, but this role exists to take our clients beyond it. We want someone who can look at an audience and say with evidence where else it sits, what a first test on that platform should cost, and what it is likely to return.

You will have experience managing a wide range of Paid Social campaigns and be comfortable growing a team and mentoring junior members of the team with time.

Iff Digital is an agency that is on a mission to do things differently. We are part of the wider DISOMO Media Group so we are well-funded and supported. This role would suit someone who is looking to challenge the norm in a small dynamic agency where you have the full reins to define and shape the Paid Social proposition and go-to-market strategy.

Above all, we are looking for drive. The best person for this role is a self-starter who does not wait to be pointed at the opportunity, who is ambitious about how far they and their clients can go, and who has the instinct to keep digging until they find the performance that others would have settled short of. If you are the sort of person who cannot leave an underperforming account alone, and who gets a genuine kick out of beating a target you set yourself, you will do well here.

Still with us? See what you think of the role below.

JOB DETAILS / SPECS

PLATFORM KNOWLEDGE (ESSENTIAL)

This is a multi-platform role. We are not looking for a Meta-only specialist.

  • Hands-on buying experience across Meta (Facebook and Instagram) plus at least two of TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, YouTube or X
  • Working knowledge of every major platform in the landscape, whether or not you have bought on it: the audience it reaches, the formats and placements it offers, its buying model, its measurement approach and where it genuinely earns a place on a plan
  • The judgement to match platform to objective and audience, and the confidence to recommend against a platform when it does not fit, with evidence rather than instinct
  • Creative fluency by platform: an understanding of what performs natively on each, how creative requirements differ across them, and how to brief accordingly
  • A demonstrable habit of keeping current. Platform roadmaps, betas, ad product releases and policy changes move quickly, and you will be the person in the room who already knows
  • A willingness and commitment to learn and adopt new and emerging platforms to help the agency scale. Full support and funded training will be provided

MEASUREMENT AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE (ESSENTIAL)

  • Conversion tracking across platforms: pixels, server-side and conversions API implementations, event and parameter setup, and how to spot when tracking is wrong rather than performance being wrong
  • GA4 and platform reporting, and a clear understanding of why the two rarely agree
  • Attribution windows and modelling by platform, and how to explain the differences to a client without losing them
  • Audience infrastructure: first-party data, customer lists, matched and lookalike audiences, exclusions, and consent and privacy requirements including UK GDPR and consent mode
  • Incrementality and holdout testing, and a view on when a lift test is worth running
  • Building forecasts and media plans grounded in benchmark data, not guesswork

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Reporting to the Director of Performance you will be responsible for leading a portfolio of clients. The role requires strong Paid Social knowledge and a willingness to learn other channels as required.
  • You will have a strong understanding of media execution, and exceptional knowledge in creating insight-driven media campaigns. You will be comfortable leading client meetings, and you will have overall responsibility for the implementation of the media strategy across your clients
  • You will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of campaigns within your portfolio, working alongside the Director of Performance and being supported by the wider team.
  • Ensure campaigns are planned and executed holistically to align strategy; taking into account coordination with other campaign tactics, measurement, tagging, reporting, analytics, messaging, branding, creative and content, and backend technical and database considerations.
  • Be the go-to paid social expert in the team across the full platform landscape, with in-depth knowledge of the core social media platforms and a commitment to building the same depth on the platforms we are not yet on.
  • Manage all aspects of paid social campaigns, including:
  • Programme strategy and execution
  • Best practice and industry trends
  • Testing and optimisation
  • Analytics
  • Budget optimisation
  • Reporting

PLANNING AND DELIVERY DISCIPLINE

Strong channel knowledge is only half of the role. The other half is running a portfolio in an organised, visible way, so that nothing lands as a surprise.

  • Forward planning across accounts: maintain a single forward view of every account, covering campaigns live and booked, client seasonal peaks and launch dates, budget flight dates and the asset deadlines that hang off them, with at least eight weeks visible at all times and clashes or quiet gaps flagged early
  • Creative asset pipeline: track what creative each account needs, who is producing it, when it is due and where it has got to. Raise requests well ahead of launch and chase them, rather than discovering a gap in launch week
  • Budget pacing across the portfolio: maintain a consolidated month-to-date spend against plan view for every client, and produce a short exception list naming the accounts materially off plan and by how much
  • Documented process: work to, and contribute to, a written paid social playbook covering client onboarding, campaign naming conventions, pre-launch QA, reporting templates and escalation routes, so that process lives in documentation rather than in one person’s head

GROWTH, TESTING AND COMMERCIAL CONTRIBUTION

  • Account growth proposals: identify revenue clients are not currently generating on the platforms we already run for them, covering budget headroom, formats and placements not yet used and audience expansion, packaged with a recommended test budget and a projected return
  • Cross-platform expansion cases: assess where a client’s audience sits beyond the platforms we currently buy, what competitors are doing there, and what a first test would cost and return. This is where the next round of client revenue is most likely to come from, and it is why multi-platform knowledge matters so much in this role
  • Creative testing roadmaps: maintain a rolling 90-day forward test plan for each key client, setting out the hypothesis, format, audience, budget, success measure and review date for every planned test, with a recorded learning as each one concludes
  • Benchmarking and forecasting: contribute to a cross-account reference set of CPM, CTR, CVR and CPA benchmarks by platform and by sector, built from our own account data alongside published platform data, and used to underpin forecasts in pitches and reviews
  • Case studies: turn account performance into clear, externally usable case studies with real numbers, including securing client sign-off

PLATFORM AND MEDIA OWNER PARTNERSHIPS

  • Build and maintain named relationships with representatives across the major platforms and media owners, and keep a live record of who they are, what we have asked for and what we have received
  • Use those relationships to secure test budgets, beta access, audience insight and platform-side support that strengthen our client recommendations
  • Represent Iff Digital credibly in platform conversations and bring what you learn back into the team

ATTITUDE & LEADERSHIP

  • Energetic with a contagiously positive attitude, the Performance Marketing Manager must lead by example with a can-do attitude, and be able to demonstrate ownership of objectives, projects, and processes
  • Be trusted and respected, building solid, unshakeable relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders at all levels
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team, sharing platform knowledge rather than holding it

COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Demonstrate commercial awareness with a comprehensive understanding of your client’s business, budgets and targets.
  • Maximise profit opportunities long and short term, ensuring that the agency sales and profit targets are achieved

DELIVERY OF WORK

  • Demonstrate quality briefing and ensure the agency produces the highest standard at all levels in everything we do, while maintaining profitability
  • Demonstrate proactive solution-based thinking and delivery, especially when things do not go according to plan

COMMUNICATION

  • Be articulate and confidently lead meetings and presentations, able to outline, organise, write and deliver major presentations and proposals
  • Sell ideas, concepts, and workstreams with conviction, enthusiasm, confidence, and full commitment
  • Translate platform and measurement detail into language a non-specialist client can act on
  • Maintain exemplary written and verbal communications skills

TYPICAL DAY-TO-DAY TASKS

  • Manage and develop an effective paid media strategy across core social platforms, and build the case for the ones we are not yet on
  • Plan and deliver across all paid media campaigns
  • Develop key partner relationships (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest etc) supporting long-term channel expansion
  • Identifying new opportunities to improve performance across Paid media channels
  • Collaborate with the Director of Performance for paid media activity strategy
  • Review account performance and ensure implementation of best practices is rolled out across accounts
  • You will need to forecast and craft media plans that are designed to yield exceptional results for your clients whilst successfully growing their revenue
  • Keep the forward activity calendar, creative asset pipeline and budget pacing view current across the portfolio
  • Be the go-to paid social expert in the team, ensuring key stakeholders are up to date with performance, initiatives, platform updates and strategy of the channel.
  • Work alongside the wider Performance Marketing team
  • End to end performance reporting for all clients in your portfolio
  • Supporting the external marketing of Iff Digital as we look to grow our own social footprint

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATION

  • Meta Blueprint certification, or a commitment to complete it within an agreed period of joining
  • Equivalent certifications on the other core platforms we buy on, held or in progress. Time and funding are provided for this
  • Certification is expected to be kept current rather than treated as a one-off

SELF MANAGEMENT

  • Show effective time management skills for work and client handling, and be able to protect scheduled development and growth work when client demand rises

VALUES

  • Ensure you live and breathe the company values every day
  • Togetherness
  • Lionhearted
  • Delivering Value
  • Down to earth
